The minimum wage is part of starting out in the working world. Some of us have to accept it as a fact of life as we try to get up the ladder from scratch.
Being paid below the minimum wage is unacceptable however! Its just no plausible and YOU should not accept it!
The Loch Fyne restaurant group in the UK reportedly pay its staff rates below the minimum wage. It relies on customer tips to pay to a lawful level. I’ll bet even the managers seek relief from this!
Would Gordon Brown accept a wage below his pay grade with tips for winning by-elections to pay him at the normal level? I don’t think so. He doesn’t seem to be winning many these days!
